NASTAR this Saturday & Holiday Race Camps

Hi D-Team families and Happy Holidays!  Just a friendly reminder that we are offering Open NASTAR this Saturday on Lookout at 3pm.  There will be a GS course and a stubby slalom set with timing.  Registration takes place in the Vista Room at 2pm.  I would recommend a NASTAR Season Pass because it's a great value and you can take part in all NASTAR at year! 

If you want extra training over the holiday break we still have spaces available for our Holiday Race Camp.  All in the information is on on our Race Academy Page and registration is available in our Online Store.  The camp will offer training 9am-noon Monday-Wednesday of next week.

 

Week 1 Summary & Hoodie order

We had a great first week of D-Team practice this past weekend.

For those of you who were not able to make the parent meeting, here is a brief summary of the topics we covered:

• D-Team Hoodies:  You have until this weekend to submit your order.  The order form will be located at the front desk in the SkiLink Building this Saturday & Sunday.  On the order form, you will let us know your desired size, quantities, and what name you would like printed on the back.  Once we receive the hoodies (we are hoping about two weeks after the order is made), you can pay for them and pick them up in the Ski Shop.
• You DO NOT need to pre-order the new race bibs.  We will order enough for everyone and we plan to use these for at least two seasons.  If you would still like to use last year's bib that's just fine too.  
• The first race of this season for both the Sat. and Sun. programs is at Welch Village (Jan 11 & 12).  We will send out information soon asking for parent volunteers to help run our race. 
• We still have a few pairs of junior race ski boots in the ski shop.  Most of the sizes of available are size 4-6.  Stop by the Ski Shop if you think your son/daughter may need boots. 
• Race Academy extra training starts this week.  Both full Race Academy and Associate Race Academy athletes meet in the lower level of the SkiLink Performance Center.  Training takes place from 6-8pm. 
• The Race Academy Holiday Camp takes place on Dec. 29-31. We will training from 9am-noon each day.  Registration is available in our Online Store.

First Weekend of D-Team 2014/15!

Welcome to the 2014/15 D-Team season at Welch Village!  Also, welcome to the new Welch Village D-Team Blog.  This will be your all-inclusive source for news, notes, updates, and important information for the season ahead.

Training begins this weekend.  Here is the schedule for this weekend:

We will have parent meetings at the start of each day's training sessions.

Saturday Program:
9:00am - Athletes meet their coaches on the snow directly in front of the Main Chalet.  Please arrive in plenty of time Saturday am if you need to pick up your season passes, get lift tickets, get geared up etc. We will have signs on the snow in front of the chalet for all age groups.  D-Team meeting area in the Main Chalet is on the far west end of the building on the 2nd floor.   Morning training session 9am-11am.
9:30am - Parent Meeting with Peter Zotalis (V.P. Mountain Services)  and Jim Peine (Sat. D-Team coordinator) in the D-Team meeting area in chalet.
11:00 - Lunch Break
12pm-2pm - Afternoon Training Session
