Congratulations to both the Saturday and Sunday D-team athletes and coaches for a great weekend of racing at Powder Ridge and Wild Mountain. More importantly, thank you parents and families for making the trip and supporting the programs at these other ski areas.
This weekend is picture weekend. We are using the same exact schedule as last year. CLICK HERE for this weekend's picture for both Saturday & Sunday. If you still need the forms for ordering pictures from Kim, look at the previous D-Team Blog entries.
The D-team custom hoodie order is supposed to ship later today so they should be here in time for this weekend. All the hoodies can purchased and picked up in the Ski Shop. The cost is $45 each. We also have plenty of the new race bibs, cost for those is $15. If you would like to continue to use your grey or orange bib, that is perfectly fine too.

Bibs available & D-Team Picture Day Forms
The new D-Team Race bibs:
The new bibs have arrived and can be purchased in our Ski Shop, cost is $15 each. Still waiting on the hoodies...hopefully those will be in within a week or so.

D-Team Announcements Jan. 13, 2015
Here are a few announcements and updates for all of you:
- D-Team Picture Weekend will be Saturday, Jan. 30th and Sunday, Feb 1st. Kim Hoffbeck will be coordinating this for us again this season. We will be sending out more information & the schedule soon. All the photos you order will be available for pick-up the weekend of Feb. 21-22.
- Policy for Missed Practices - Several of you have asked us about if your son/daughter can practice with the Sunday Team if they miss their Saturday program practice and vice versa. It's our policy that we Do Not allow this. One of the main reasons for this policy is this...when we add athletes to an already established age group that group size gets larger which in turn can pose problems for the coach of that group having to coach a group that is larger than they are used to. Also, we feel it's unfair to that existing group because those athletes will receive less coaching that day because the group size is larger. Thank you for abiding by this policy.
- New Bibs & Hoodies - The bibs should arrive before the next race, the hoodies sometime shortly after...we'll keep you posted.

2015 Welch Village D-Team Race Results
Hello Families,
We had a great weekend of races. Congratulations to all D-Team athletes who participated and Thank You to all of you parents and volunteers. Without you, great events and experiences like this would not be possible. A big Thank you from me, the coaches, our race department, and Welch Village management. Of course, a big thank you to Tammy Coyne or race director and her staff. It was impressive, as always, to watch our race crew put on a race like this.

Announcements 1/1/15
Happy New Year D-Team members and families! A few announcements heading into Week 4 of D-Team:
- Our Race Director, Tammy, would like to meet with all parents at the start of practice this weekend to discuss the upcoming D-Team race at Welch Village and discuss the roles of our parents and volunteers. On Saturday, we will meet in 2nd floor of the chalet at 9:30am. On Sunday, we will meet at 12:30. We will want all of you to check your racers information including date of birth and provide your contact information to Tammy in case she has any questions. Tammy can be reached via email at racing@welchvillage.com
- We are in the process of finalizing our roster and age groups for the races. Athletes should race in the age group determined by their birth date on Sept. 1st, 2014 per league guidelines. Athletes can race up an age group but they cannot race down an age group. We recommend following the league guidelines.
- The Hoodie and Race Bib Order was submitted this week, it should take about 3 weeks to receive the order. I am hoping that we can move the order for the bibs sooner than that. The final cost per hoodie ended up being $45. The new race bibs will cost $15. We will let you know when the items arrive and are available for purchase in the ski shop.
- It may be a good idea to have your kids skis tuned up before the first race. All season passholders receive a 10% discount in our Tuning Center. If you plan to do this, make sure you get this done this coming weekend so the skis are ready for the race next weekend.
- The forecast appears to be pretty cold for this Sunday, we will still have practice. Please make sure the kids are prepared. All age groups will take frequent breaks to warm up.
